Yeah, I don't get that mentality. I mean, I do. People generally like to tell others how unlikable and hard to get into something like this is for the sake of making themselves feel better for enduring it or to keep it for themselves. I don't understand the why, though. If I like something, I want to share it with people. That's me, though.

I wonder how they'll be implemented. As long as it stays purely cosmetic, it's a-okay with me.

It's less discouragement and more of a warning, really. I would love to have more people who go here to queue with, but a lot of people I introduce MOBAs to quit after their first dozen games. They really are pretty unforgiving to new players.

Not if you play with people you know and say fuck 'em to the rest. Like I have. I haven't run into that experience at all playing the bit of these types of games that I have. But I also have only played with people I know.

I'm still playing DotA 2 even though I'm pretty much at scrublord level in it. Only way to learn is via experience and that's what I'm intending to do.

Trial Upgrade

Will most likely work the same way it does in TF2, users who buy from the store for the first time will have their account upgraded from “trial” to “premium”.

This is possibly hinting a free-to-play version of DotA 2, or the entire game is free-to-play. It's not final, but this sure is interesting.

People quit because their role model leaves as soon as the enemy team gets first blood.

I got dis. I started playing with a friend but he's way too srs face for me to want to play with him too often. It's okay the first ten minutes of a game, but as soon as the pace starts to pick up, all he does is get angry at me like I actually know how to play this game, and all the characters in it (Hint: I've never played most of the characters)

It's still kinda fun when you get it right or when the matchmaking system actually pairs you with people around the same skill level.

Ok so what is the trick to not getting instapwned? Should I be burning my wand charges while I'm having my face kicked in? Is there rune/mastery thing like lol? I'm not great at games in general but this is getting silly.

Using broodmother if that helps.

I never actually found Wand to be all that useful starting out because I never knew when to use my charges. It takes a bit of getting to know the game before you can properly determine when using your wand will net you a kill / save you from death.

Just get a stick. Wand is rarely worth it. For Brood, get a Soul Ring and BKB then whatever else. Push like mad while keeping webs up. Wands are good for regen-ing hp while running away or mid-fight, and especially regaining mana.

Cheap stats and increased health regen aren't worth it?

Yeah, it's actually a really bad idea to not upgrade your stick into a wand
