My teacher just asked me to be the Art Director for a Brand ID project for a psychotrist in Philly.

I have a team of three kind of capable people. They all got this quiet issue, one doesn't talk ever she's completely forgettable, one doesn't respond well to criticism, and one is nice but he just needs pushed here and there. They're all CAPABLE.

I just get to BOSS THEM AROUND YEAH. SUPER CREATIVE ME GETS TO BE BOSSY. Everything falls on me.

Today I was asking one of the other art director's in the class (4 of us are directing four different projects) about contracts since he's in the field and has the AIGA book. So after talking to him and going over some of the basics of what i had to make sure was int his contract I'm writing up for illustrations.

So like after we talk and he shows me concept drawings his friend has done and the kind of guy who might have legal contracts. Going over why the standard ones might be bad, teacher walks in.

Tells me what teachers to talk to, tells me about Engineers who hace concept contracts. Like, it was pretty rad. Once I get some solid details in what's required I'm going to write a letter explaining what I need and write out some contract.

I'm also going to start teaching myself After Effects, there's a job in Santa Monica (Which isn't awful far away from where I'll live) that I'm interested in applying for. There's another job in Playa De Reya for logotype work that I'm interested in. Teacher thinks both would be really easy and good for me. BBJ

When you got all deez skeelz you get jorbs n offerz. One dude hit me up after seeing my stuff at Fight For Youth and he apparently likes showing art at galleries and selling them there. So yeah, that's awesome too. That's a way to kind of do fine arts and show off at a geeky thing. There's a gallery fee, but that's understandable. There was someone else from FFY that hit me up but I doubt anything's going to come up from that.

seems like you are getting known. a bit of advice though, don't get overflowed with work, because it will put a huge strain physically and mentally (burned out).

Yeah, the biggest issue with the jobs in Santa Monica and Playa De Reya is they're like 14-20 miles from where I'll live in Long Beach but they're like 40-50 miles from here. I wont be in long beach for a month and a half so AHHHHH.

And they're both so rad.

The one with After Effects works with entertainment, food and beverage, coporate, technologies, so they pointed out three things my portfolio lean towards. That would be for this studio. They have some interesting stuff, some weaker stuff, but I'd probably fit in more.

The other place. The one who's looking for a logotype and typography kind of weird graphic design magician. I think I have the SKILLS they're looking for but when you go to their site. I'm worried I wont FIT IN? LIKE, I CAN DO THE DESIGN STUFF. I think the design is kind of EHH. But like, it's something I'd sort of be really good at?

The third place I'm looking at REQUIRES Rotoscoping and and mac proficiency. Which Uh, I can learn Rotoscoping in a day probably. It'd be to work on some motion comic TV series, so it's secretly the one I'm the most interested in. Plus I can work there three days a week. On friday's just go to the Long Beach home and pass out there or something.

Most of these places are like 20-30 minutes from that place driving on freeways, which I'LL HAVE NO ISSUE DOING FOR A FUCKIN' JOB.

I don't know what it is about me but heads of art departments seem to fucking love me. My teacher got sad just now because I wasn't on the list for a scholarship recommendation list. SO YEAH.

FEELS GOOD. I guess? So weird. So weird that they're always like "I WANT YOU TO SUCCEED" AND STUFF.
